We had such a blast today making sushi at the library! This was RDS in action! (That's just an Army acronym that means we work together!) It was so awesome to see couples come out together, friends, soldiers, a father and son and a mother and daughter! Sushi is such a communal activity and this class was such a wonderful example. This is really what we're in business for. (Not making sushi... although we'd love to!) We're here to teach people new and creative things, give spouses something to do while their other half is deployed, bring families together to do something fun... we're just here to meet the needs of our community. And this time we got to do it over sushi! Mmmmm, yummy! We will definately do this again.

What can YOU do with a charm pack?
What is a charm pack? A charm pack is a stack of coordinating 5" squares from a line of fabric. They may seem small in size, but the possibilities are only limited by your imagination! Minis are cute. What about a quilted tote bag? Or an IPOD case. A little grab bag for your purse...
Be thinking about what YOU would make with a charm pack, because we have a special offer coming very soon...

New Quilters

We have had several new quilters spring up here at the shop. For some reason these people are very shy. Sometimes, when we are able to hunt them down with our cameras, they throw beautifully completed quilts over their heads to avoid being captured! Michelle Carroll is behind this quilt. We know her grandson will love this! She backed it in our newest minky fabric, you have to see this stuff, gorgeous. We admire her diligence in this combination because it's not easy. This is only her second quilt! Congrats Michelle!
New at the shop!
This line is from Red Rooster. The focus fabric has a fall motif and there are great stripes, leaves and swirls. The colors are saturated and warm. Really, it's just yummy.
Sew Liberated (formerly Montessori Hand Made) has done it again. We are eager to see this one made. Hmmm, should we have a Lola fashion show when we all get them done? If this sounds like fun, come in and tell us!
